At the “Item Donation” charity event held at the Incheon and Changwon plants, executives and staff members of Doosan Infracore voluntarily donated 3000 items. The collected items were donated to Beautiful Shop, and the profits from their sale will be used to help the poor.
Doosan Infracore, which has continuously carried out acts of public service in order to spread a culture of sharing, planned this event in times of economic hardship to help people who are isolated in our society.
Donations were registered for one week at each plant, with the Changwon plant starting on March 13 and Incheon on March 16. Principal items included clothing, household products, toys, books, CDs and small home appliances. In particular, Song-Hak Choi gave the largest donation of 137 pieces of clothing. There were also novelty items, including a 1-liter bottle of home-brewed ginseng wine donated by Hui-Jin Lee from the Engines & Materials BG. CEO Gi-Seon Han, who transferred from the Alcoholic Beverages BG to Doosan Infracore a week earlier, also took part in the event and donated clothing and a golf bag.
On April 9, Doosan Infracore held the delivery ceremony at Beautiful Shop’s East Incheon Branch. Executives and staff members will help with the sale of the items as well. Donated items from Changwon have already been delivered to Beautiful Shop’s Central Changwon Branch, and sales will begin soon.
Doosan Infracore plans carry out such events regularly and lead the way in helping the poor and recycling precious resources.
Beautiful Shop is a nationwide network of charity shops that aids local organizations in carrying out charitable activities by selling donated articles to economically-burdened households at affordable prices. It uses the profits to help the poor and to carry out public welfare activities at home and abroad.
