Doosan Infracore UK exhibited five forklift models at British Potato 2005, held at the Yorkshire Event Centre, near Harrogate, Nov. 30-Dec. 1. Booth visitors were particularly impressed by the D33S-3 diesel, equipped with a 6m maximum fork height to facilitate potato handling. Many liked the power and ease of operation.
Potato consumption is high in the UK. The total market for potato handling equipment is not huge but represents a significant niche without heavy competition. Therefore, DIU officials have decided to pursue it aggressively.
