Towards the mutual growth of headquarters and agencies! ‘2022 domestic construction equipment agencies 


In February, HCEs domestic sales team hosted a "2022 New Year's Event for Domestic CE Agents" at HHI Human Resources Institution. This event was for dealers in the central and Gyeongsang regions of South Korea - Pohang, Ulsan, Jinju, Daegu, and Seosan. Many managers and salespeople, as well as staff from related departments, attended. Now that the new year has come, they gathered and shared the ways of forwards.

 

 

Reading ‘market’ for the right ‘strategy’!

Domestic Construction Equipment Market Analysis

To move further, it is important to read market flows and to plan depending on the market trends. The new year’s event was for reviewing the market trends in the last year and predicting demands for this year for this year’s sales plan.

 

In 2021, the market demands of three major construction equipment companies (HCE, Hyundai Doosan Infracore, Volvo Construction Equipment) increased 125% year on year. In particular, demands for 14-ton wheel and 30-ton crawler excavators noticeably rose.

 

As the pandemic continues, the economic recovery is expected to be delayed and the demands for replacement used equipment to decline in 2022. Therefore, the market demand is expected to be slightly decreased over the year. The construction equipment market in demand peaked in 2017 and then dropped in the following year. Given that this cycle, the larger products in demand were last year, the lower demand will be this year in the short term.

 

 

Voice of Agents, who are the closest to the customers



After the analysis of the domestic market, the agents gave a presentation about the advantages and improvements of HCE’s products while selling them over the last year.

The agencies in Gyeongsang and the central region reviewed ‘HCE’s engine power is higher and more durable than competitors in terms of 6-ton equipment (HX60AMT, HW60A). And they summarized 14-ton wheel equipment as ‘low failure related to urea dosing system with application of Cummins engine’ and ‘high productivity’.

 

Improvements were presented based on the VOC and weakness compared to competitors.

There were various opinions such as equipment as well as marketing support for agencies. These ideas will be actively considered to improve the agencies’ sales environment and customers’ experience.

 

After the presentation, the two agencies of excellence were selected and received a hotel voucher. The Jinju agency and the Seosan agency, which suggested the specific analysis and improvements of equipment, became the winners.

 

 

Introduction of New & F/L Models and sharing 2022 major tasks to promote



New & F/L models were introduced by the leading global TM team in HCE. It raised the understanding of the products and their selling points. 2022 New models (HX85A, HX150ACR, HW155A, HW165A) and F/L models (HW60A+, HX60AMT+, HX320A, HX400A) were introduced with the individual specific features. 



Finally, the domestic PS team in HCE shared ‘2022 major tasks to promote’. The team presented how to operate the Hi-MATE Outbound service that helps customers operate their equipment efficiently. Hi-MATE is a remote management system developed by HCE in 2008. This system provides tailored information about equipment. Therefore, customers can check the current status without having an inspection in person, which is very efficient. Hi-MATE system is standard in the 15-ton wheel excavator (HW155A) and 32-ton crawler excavator (HX320A). In terms of large excavators over 38-ton and wheel loaders, the service will be provided with the launch. Each agent will complete online training to acquire expertise in this service before it is officially operated. And HCE plans to continue activities to improve this system.

 

In addition, HCE announced the plan to form and operate the exclusive organization for large equipment. This is for responding quickly to customers. Moreover, HCE shared ‘2022 major tasks to promote’. This year’s tasks are to improve the education system for dealerships and operate computing systems for establishing overseas distribution processes of used equipment in Korea.

 

 

The headquarters and agencies of HCE made up their minds through this new year’s event. Remembering the determination of the day, HCE will make the best 2022.
